Growth Technology Liquid Silicon is a beneficial plant nutrient, found in virtually all natural soils. Liquid Silicon will strengthen the plant walls producing stronger, healthier plants with massive root systems and increased resistance to pests and disease. Liquid Silicon should be used during the entire of the plant life cycle including vegetative growth and flowering. This will strengthen the cell walls of the plants, giving noticeably stronger and  thicker stems. Another added bonus to Liquid Silicon is that it is a strong alkali which will cause your pH to go up so you can use silicon instead of a pH up if you wish.

How does Liquid Silicon work?

Liquid Silicon has an important role in the uptake and vascular transport of mineral nutrients, and can greatly improve the mechanical “strength” of the plant and its resistance to fungal diseases. It creates darker, thicker leaves that insects and bugs struggle to bite through.

The addition of Liquid Silicon to nutrient solutions can greatly reduce the incidence and severity of fungal diseases including Botrytis (bud rot) and powdery mildew.

Recent research has demonstrated that raising the silicon concentration in hydroponic solutions produced thicker, whiter, healthier root systems and increased yields.

Silicon has also been shown to result in higher concentrations of chlorophyll per unit area of leaf tissue. This means that a plant is able to tolerate both lower and higher light levels by using more of the available light.

How to use Growth Technology Liquid Silicon:

Liquid Silicon should be used during the entire of the plant life cycle, from week 1 of vegetative growth until harvest.

Liquid Silicon has a high pH, and can therefore be used effectively to raise the pH of hydroponic nutrient solutions. The extra silicon added is a bonus for the plants.
