Essentials pH adjusters work simply by altering the pH of a solution. If the current pH is at 5 (slightly acidic) a solution of alkaline (pH UP) is added to raise the solution to the desired level. This also works in reverse. Essentials pH UP and DOWN are supplied in 2 strengths.

Good kit and does exactly what it is meant to. Only one drawback: the pH indicator solution bottle is slightly leaky near the top so drops come out before the bottle is fully tilted downwards so end up using more than the recommended 3 drops. Maybe my bottle has a small hole/leak or manufacturer’s issue? But easily rectified, can transfer to a different bottle.
